According to the report, in the meeting, the minister “apprised the participants that in light of the manifold increase in the usage of remotely piloted aircraft systems, it is high time to formulate a policy to regulate its usage.”

Then the stakeholders and participants were given the instructions to share their feedback within a fortnight.The drones that are used by government entities will be registered with the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA).

Draft addressing areas include manufacturing, import, purchase, usage, licensing, security clearance, regulations and UAS export.The USA system is divided as per its maximum take-off mass (MTOM) or maximum take-off weight (MTOW) according to the policy.

Within these classifications, there are five categories Class-I which is less than 250 grams, Class- II which is between 250g and 2kg, Class III which is between 2 kg and 50 kg, Class IV which is between 50 kg and 150 kg, Class V which is more than 150 kg.Using public roads for take-off and landing ground is not allowed under the approval is given from concerned local authority. Limitations apply to fly the aircraft near sensitive areas.
